Medicare.gov is Medicare’s public website, which provides detailed information such as the parts of Medicare, coverage, eligibility and costs. You can obtain the following on this website:
  • Information about Original Medicare health and prescription drug plans in your area, including what they cost and what services they provide.
  • Medicare-participating doctors or other health care providers and suppliers.
  • What various Medicare plans cover, including preventive services (like screenings, shots or vaccines, and yearly wellness visits).
  • Information and forms for Original Medicare appeals.
  • Information about the quality of care provided by plans, nursing homes, hospitals, doctors, home health agencies, dialysis facilities, hospices, inpatient rehabilitation facilities and long-term care hospitals.
  • Other helpful websites and phone numbers.
MyMedicare.gov Info
MyMedicare.gov is Medicare’s free website that can be used to access your health information such as coverage, enrollment status and Original Medicare claims. On this site, you can:
  • Manage personal information (like medical conditions, allergies and implanted devices).
  • Sign up to get your “Medicare Summary Notices” (eMSNs).
  • Manage your prescription drug list and information about the pharmacy you use.
  • Search for, add to and manage a list of your favorite healthcare providers.
  • Select or change your primary doctor, who is the doctor responsible for coordinating your overall care, regardless of where you choose to get services.
  • Track Original Medicare claims and your Part B deductible status.
  • Print an official copy of your Medicare card.
Who can I contact if I’ve lost my Original Medicare card or need it replaced?
Medicare.gov is Medicare’s public website, which provides detailed information such as the parts of Medicare, coverage, eligibility and costs. You can obtain the following on this website:
  • Lost or Damaged – The quickest way to get an Original Medicare card replacement is to sign in to your MyMedicare.gov account to print an official copy of your Medicare card. If you don’t have an account, visit MyMedicare.gov to create one.
  • Stolen –You’ll want to contact Medicare by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). If you use TTY, please call 1-877-486-2048 for assistance. If you think someone has used your Original Medicare card without your knowledge, you should also contact your local authorities or the Federal Trade Commission’s ID Theft Hotline at 1-877-438-4338 (TTY users 1-877-486-2048).
  • Other Ways to Get a Medicare Replacement Card – You can also call the Social Security office Monday through Friday between 7am – 7pm at 1-800-772-1213. If you use TTY, please call 1-800-325-0778 for assistance. Or you can visit your local Social Security office.
You will receive your replacement card within 30 days. If you need your replacement card sooner, you can request a letter (which should arrive within 10 days) to use as temporary proof. If you need even sooner than that, visit your nearest Social Security office.
