Term is economical. It is absolutely the most affordable way to provide financial security for your family should something happen to you.

Term is flexible. Most people only need Life Insurance during certain years. With Term Life Insurance you can choose how long you want protection—10, 15, 20 25, or sometimes, 30 years. In addition, many of the companies we represent allow you to convert their policies into Permanent Life Insurance.

We offer two basic kinds of Term Life Insurance:

1. Level Term Life Insurance. With these policies, both the death benefit and the premium are guaranteed to remain level for the entire term. The price can't increase. The coverage can't decrease. You can cancel any time without a penalty, but the Term Life Insurance company can't cancel your policy as long as you pay the premium. When the term ends, you can choose to either stop or continue it at rates that increase until you reach the age of usually 95 or 100.


2. Return of premium (ROP) Term Life Insurance. This is a new kind of policy that offers a return of the premiums you have paid for the Term Life coverage at the end of the Term you selected (for example, 15, 20 or 30 years), if your policy is still in force.* This is more expensive than Level Term Insurance, but less expensive than permanent.

• * If you cancel your policy before the end of the Term, you may still get back part of the premiums you have paid into it. The provisions of the policy you buy will detail your options. If you keep the policy for the full term, your return of premium will exclude any premium you paid for riders (for example, a rider providing Insurance on your spouse or child) and/or any extra premium charged if you're a special risk due to your health or the activities you participate in (if, for example, you have a hobby like skydiving).
