As of January 1, 2007, First Colony Life Insurance Company
merged into Genworth Life and Annuity Insurance Company, a Genworth Financial
company.
First Colony Life incorporated in 1955. In 1982, Ethyl Corporation, Richmond, VA
acquired all outstanding shares of First Colony Life. In 1996, First Colony Life
was acquired by the General Electric Company. Following an IPO in 2004, First
Colony Life and other financial companies in GE were grouped as a new holding
company called Genworth Financial. In 2005, Genworth Financial became a fully
independent company with First Colony Life as one of its underwriting entities.
Genworth Life & Annuity is licensed in every state except New York. Genworth Life
& Annuity is also licensed in the District of Columbia and Bermuda.

Company of New York merged into Genworth Life Insurance Company of New York, a
Genworth Financial company.
American Mayflower Life was originally incorporated and commenced business in
1957 as the Animal Insurance Company of America. In 1964, the company was
converted to a legal reserve life company under New York Law. In 1975, the
company was acquired by First Colony Life Insurance Company. Following an IPO in
2004, First Colony Life and other financial companies in GE were grouped as a
new holding company called Genworth Financial. In 2005, Genworth Financial
became a fully independent company with American Mayflower Life as one of its
underwriting entities.
Genworth Life of New York is licensed to do business in New York.
